Saturday 15th April 2023 ONE DAY BEGINNERS' WORKSHOP

image description

This intimate workshop will give you all the skills you need to be able to use the poles effectively and get the most out of your Nordic Walking. We teach the internationally recognised technique which enables you to reap the numerous health benefits that the correct technique bring. From releasing neck and shoulder tension, to relieving back pain, helping improve posture, bone density and muscle tone. Learning to walk more effectively can help your general fitness and wellbeing even when you're not using the poles. The addition of poles takes the pressure of your joints, perfect for anyone with ankle, knee or hip problems. Everyone and anyone can benefit, whatever you age, gender or fitness level. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me, Katharine on 07789 872435.

All Nordic Walking East Anglia classes will comply with the latest government regulations.  Please read our guidelines and delivery plan so that you know what to expect.

The workshop will last 3 hours, during which time you will learn the full 10 step British Nordic Walking (BNW) Technique. By the end of the workshop you will feel confident enough to either join our regular walks or go off on your own. There will be a short break half way through, please bring a drink and a snack if desired. There's a cafe and loos on site. Please be aware that you are on your feet for 3 hours and will walk approximately 2-3 miles in that time. If you're concerned that this may be too much or have any questions, please call Katharine on 07789 872435 or email katharine@nordicwalkingeastanglia.co.uk, potentially a private/small group lesson can be arranged if this would be more suitable.

Please park safely in the car park and meet at the cafe end of the car park. It is £3 parking for over 2 hours, or £30 permit for the whole year.

Please wear comfortable layered clothing, dressing according to the weather and wear sensible walking shoes or boots. Poles will be provided. Please do not buy poles before the course without seeking advice. Nordic Walking poles have a special 'glove' attachment.

The workshop costs £45, please pay in advance by bank transfer to secure your place. Details will be given on return of booking. If you do not do online banking please let me know.
