Tuesday 31st March - Kirtling Towers & Daffodils

image description

We will meet at The Red Lion pub (loos available) and walk through Lady's Wood and on to Kirtling Towers, an Elizabethan Gatehouse.  Hopefully the bank of daffodils will be in full flower - they are a spectacular sight! The walk continues into the hamlet of Upend, before circling back through undulating countryside, with views of Cowlinge and Lidgate, before arriving back at Kirtling.  The walk is about 4.5 miles in length and there are no steep sections.  However, there are a couple of styles that need to be crossed. For those that wish to finish with a well earned bite at Pub, we will pre-order before we set off, and the food will be ready when we return.

There are free spaces available in the car park at the Red Lion.

Wear comfortable layers, and walking shoes or similar, with a good tread. Water in a small rucksack or bumbag is recommended. Poles are provided.

This walk is a one off payment of £10 and is not part of any blocks of walks. We will require payment up front in order to book a place. If you would like to have a light lunch afterwards please let Mary or Katharine know when booking and we can give you details. Any refreshments will be paid directly to The Red Lion, Kirtling.

Walk yourself fit in Suffolk.
